The Twins will open up their 2008 Spring Training
31-game Grapefruit League schedule on Thursday, Feb. 28, when they head to
Sarasota to face the Cincinnati Reds. Minnesota will then host its Spring
Training opener at Hammond Stadium on Feb. 29 when it faces the 2007 World
Series champion Boston Red Sox in a 7:05 p.m. ET start. It's the first of
two straight contests against the Twins' crosstown rival in Fort Myers.
Additional highlights of the Twins' 16-game home Spring Training schedule
include two additional visits by the Red Sox (March 1 and 12), the New York
Yankees (March 9) and the 2006 World Series Champion St. Louis Cardinals
(March 24).
