The Cincinnati Reds hold their spring training in Sarasota, Florida. Ed Smith Stadium is home to the Cincinnati Reds home 2008 spring training schedule.

Ken Griffey, Jr. takes a swing at Spring Training in Sarasota The Reds will be playing their tenth Grapefruit League season at Sarasota's Ed Smith Stadium. This year's schedule includes two visits from the New York Yankees, but the only time the Reds will take on the Boston Red Sox is when the Reds travel to Ft. Myers on March 5 and 15. The Reds first home game is against the Minnesota Twins on Feb. 28. The Reds will meet the Tampa Bay Rays 5 times and will finish the grapefruit league season against the Rays March 29 at Ed Smith Stadium.

This may be the Reds last spring training in Sarasota unless the Reds choose to extend their lease or unless Sarasota comes up with a plan to refurbish Ed Smith Stadium after a bond issue was turned down by local voters. Other cities in Florida and Arizona have been courting the Reds.

Mail orders, including a $7 service charge per order, should be sent to 1090 N. Euclid Ave., Sarasota, FL 34237. 2006 Prices: $14 for box seats, $12 for reserved seats and $7 for general admission
Ballpark
Located at Ed Smith Stadium. 2700 12th Street at the corner of Tuttle Ave. Plenty of paid parking at the ballpark. Day games start at 1:05 PM and night games at 7:05 PM Practices start at 9 a.m. at Ed Smith Stadium and Sarasota Sports Complex, before exhibitions begin. Minor leaguers practice at Sarasota Sports Complex The ballpark was completed in 1989. 340 feet to left field; 340 feet to right field; 375 feet to alleys; 400 feet to center Seating Capacity: 7,500. Parking is paid at the park.
From North: Exit I-75 at University Parkway; go west on University to Tuttle; turn left and head south on Tuttle; stadium is located on the right at the intersection of 12th and Tuttle. From South: Exit I-75 at Fruitville Road; go west on Fruitville to Tuttle; turn right on Tuttle to 12th; the stadium is on the left.
