The San Francisco Giants hold their spring training in Scottsdale, Arizona. The San Francisco Giants will open the defense of their 2003 National League West championship with a 33-game Spring Training schedule in 2004, including three contests at SBC Park.

The Giants, who became only the ninth team in history to go wire-to-wire in winning the NL West last season, will play a 29-game slate in Arizona, including 15 contests at their Cactus League home of Scottsdale Stadium. San Francisco will return to the Bay Area to host the Texas Rangers Thursday, April 1 and then play three contests against the American League West champion Oakland Athletics with home games Friday, April 2 and Sunday, April 4. The Giants will visit the Network Associates Coliseum on Saturday, April 3.

San Francisco, led by six-time National League MVP Barry Bonds, will open their Spring Training slate with a road contest versus the NL Central champion Chicago Cubs on Thursday, March 4 in a 1:05 p.m. MST game at Ho Ho Kam Park in Mesa, AZ. That contest will kick off a four-game home-and-home weekend series vs. the Cubs, with Chicago visiting Scottsdale Stadium Friday, March 5 and and Sunday, March 7.

The Giants, who have held Spring Training in Arizona since 1952, will play 15 games at home and 14 contests on the road in 2004 Cactus League play.
